Responsibilities of Health Coaches - Help clients create and implement effective solutions to improve their health and wellness. Use general knowledge of medical conditions, nutrition, and diet to partner with clients and their providers. Identify behavior and habit changes to help clients transform their lives.
As a Health Coach, we do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, interpret medical results, write food plans*, nor recommend supplements. We are not therapists who work with you on issues in your past, rather as Coaches, we work with you on your present, partnering with you to accomplish your health goals for the future. We track your progress with accountability. You decide the health and wellness goal topics that we discuss. *meal plan resources are available.
Length and duration of sessions? Beginning with 3 months to ongoing, meeting weekly or bi-weekly.
Initial appointment is 60 minutes with follow up appointments at 30 minutes or more if needed.
Are these sessions HIPAA compliant? Yes
Will I have to fill out paperwork? Yes
I get stuck and run out of ideas to move forward. Are there tools to help? Yes, simply ask for resource suggestions.
Are you going to give me advice or tell me what to do? No, that is not what a coach does. You are your own expert. Coaching is client-centered. If you need ideas, we can use a brainstorming tool. If you are stuck on decision making, we have tools for you to get clarity for yourself. I partner with you and assist with accountability.
